Victory Tennis was started and is directed by former professional tennis player Greg Jones. Greg has had a lifetime in tennis after starting at 3 years of age, and experience at the highest level that tennis has to offer as a player in both junior and professional tennis. Some of these highlights include:
Ranked #1 in Australia and #4 in the world on the ITF Junior Rankings (18&U)
Finalist of Junior Boys Singles at French Open and semi-finalist of Junior Boys Singles at Wimbledon
Career high of #179 in the world on the ATP World Tour professional rankings
Played in all Grand Slams, including Australian Open many times
Represented Australia at Davis Cup and at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, where he won a Silver Medal
Since retiring as a player at the end of 2017, Greg continued his passion for tennis in the coaching world, and has already had some incredible experiences:
As a key member of world #1 Caroline Wozniacki’s team during the Australian Open, where she won the Women’s Singles Title in 2018, and again in 2020 during her last tournament before her retirement
As a part of all time great Venus Williams’ team during the 2019 Australian Open and lead up events
Working with Aussie favourites Daria Saville (Gavrilova) and Sam Stosur
Coaching the ITF Junior Boys Team including four players inside the top 20 in the world for 18&U
Coaching top juniors in Victoria and various professionals ranked on the ATP and WTA World Rankings
As a high performance coach with Wesley College and coach of the Girls 1st Team
Coaching players of all ages and standards at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club
Currently the Boys 1st Team Coach at Caulfield Grammar
Is a Club Pro qualified coach with Tennis Australia
